Birmingham, We want to hear from you!
Posted by admin in Uncategorized on March 14, 2012
Dear Birmingham,
We want YOU to speak at the next Ignite Birmingham! Ignite Birmingham 7 is fast approaching and want to encourage more of our communities to get involved by speaking at Ignite. Submit here! We will keep submissions open until March 21st. Our goal is to have over 20 submissions to choose from but are far short of our goal.
Over the last 6 events we have had a nice mix of tech and non tech but we would love to see more. We promise its alot of fun and a good experience to have. If you don’t want to speak at least try to attend. We promise you won’t regret it. For those thinking about submitting a proposal, please review our Rules & Guidelines so you will have an idea of what we expect. But wait, don’t feel nervous! It’s not hard to submit, honest. It’s about your passions, which is different from what you just happen to do well. Think about what excites you, what gets your heart beating just a little faster, and your eyes to light up. Ask your friends. I’m sure they know what you talk about all the time; they do have to listen to you go on-and-on about it. But, it’s not just you. Everyone has a passion. Tell your friend, your sister, your next door neighbor, the table next to you drinking coffee, or the guy in the elevator. We’re a community of passionate people, so ignite the interest in people around you. Invite those you’re connected with to submit to Ignite Birmingham #7. Submit yours here now!
Happy submitting, The Ignite Birmingham Team
Ignite Birmingham#7 is coming! Here are the details.

Not only is Spring almost here, but we are excited to kick off the planning, and the preparation for the next Ignite Birmingham event!
Once again we will be returning to Matthew Bar & Grill for our 7th event on Wednesday April 4th, 2012.
What’s your passion?
The first order of business, as always, is that submissions are now open! If you have something you’re excited about, take a few minutes and submit a talk idea. We don’t want sales pitches or rants. We want you to submit those weird, curious, unusual things that really get you excited. That hobby that keeps you up until the wee hours of the morning tinkering away. That pastime upon which you spend all your extra cash. The topic that every time it comes up you lean forward in your chair and start waving your hands around like one of those creepy wiggle air-dolls they use in front of car dealerships and furniture stores.
If you want to share that with us (and we really want you to!) you can submit an Ignite Birmingham talk until March 9th. If you know someone else who is odd, cool, or interesting who you think should submit – send them a link to our submission page and tell them to get busy!
Tickets will be going on sale March 19th, so mark your calendars. You can also join the Facebook event, or subscribe to the ticket event on Plancast if you prefer.
As always, we’re a non-profit group and rely on our friends and fans to help us spread the word. So any tweeting, sharing, emailing, or other forms of telling people about us in the next few weeks is beyond appreciated.
